Everything you Need to Know About the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018

Signed into law on June 28, 2018, the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) represents the most stringent state privacy regulation in the United States. Billed as the California version of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the CCPA includes GDPR-like requirements addressing the rights to access, delete, and transfer personal data. The law also includes rights not found in the GDPR, such as the right to obtain details about the sale of personal data to third parties. The law is complex and potential fines are severe.
