The New State Data Privacy Laws Enforceable in 2023

In 2023, five new rights-based data privacy laws will become enforceable in the U.S. at the state level.  Common to all of these laws is the right of individuals to receive a copy of the personal data held about them by companies upon request. Closely allied with this is the right to have this data corrected or deleted. Additional rights include the right of individuals to not have their personal data sold to third parties or to be subject to targeted advertising.
