Kevin Coppins

Kevin Coppins

CEO & President

A tech industry veteran, Coppins has served in senior executive roles at software and hardware companies both large and small, equipping him with the breadth of skills and experience needed to thrive at Spirion. Coppins leads a team of passionate data privacy professionals who work with clients in the daily battle to protect what’s important — their sensitive data. Prior to serving as CEO at Spirion, Coppins held leadership positions at Novell, Alcatel Lucent, Meru Networks, EasyVista, CyFIR, and NEC. His educational background includes a BA in Marketing from Penn State, MBA from Loyola University New Orleans, and a Certificate of Professional Development from The Wharton School of Business.

Chris Swango

Chris is a seasoned finance leader with 35+ years’ experience spanning corporate and public accounting. His expertise in GAAP accounting, financial statements, operational finance, HR, and staff leadership enriches Spirion. He previously held CFO positions at BrightBytes, Inc. (acquired by Google) and Think Through Math (acquired by a major SaaS competitor). Chris also contributed to executive roles at Chicago Title Company within a Fortune 500 conglomerate, following a 12-year tenure in public accounting.

Stephen Buko

Chief Delivery and Operations Officer

As Chief Deliver and Operations Officer with Spirion, Stephen brings 12+ years of experience leading customer facing organizations and cofounding startups.

Before joining Spirion, he was the VP of Customer Experience at WireWheel – the data privacy workflow management and automation solution. Prior to that, he was CEO and Founder of Kerb.ai – a computer vision marketing analytics venture backed startup. Kerb.ai was regularly recognized as a Top 10 DC startup and was featured in CNN. Stephen built and refined his customer facing skillset as an Engagement Manager with Deloitte Consulting leading large consulting projects for the private and public sector.

Stephen has an MBA, MS in Mechanical Engineering, and BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama. He sits on the Board of Visitors for the University of Alabama Business School and serves as a Board Member of the Alabama State Society, a non-profit organization in Washington, DC. He is also a board member of the entrepreneurial committee for the University of Alabama Business School and has taught ad hoc lectures at the University of Maryland and American University.

Missi Carmen

Chief Marketing Officer

Missi Carmen is the Chief Marketing Officer at Spirion with over two decades of experience helping B2B enterprise and SaaS brands in fast growth. Specializing in demand gen, MarTech, and operations, she uses that experience to drive predictable insights to feed and nurture the entire customer journey.

Prior to joining Spirion, Missi’s career has focused on marketing and sales alignment rooted in operational process, bringing successful overhauls to enterprise and SaaS organizations like Concentrix, Sitel Group, OPSWAT, Rock Content, ion Interactive, and M&T Bank.

Missi holds an MS in Information Technology: E-Commerce from University of Maryland Global and a BS in Marketing Communications from the University of Baltimore. She lives in Boca Raton with her husband, her Awesome daughter, and two dogs.

Christopher Hudson

Christopher Hudson

VP, People & Corporation Operations

As Vice President of People, Christopher brings a people-focused approach with particular attention to a culture that drives business results, developing organizational leaders, and guiding human behaviors that support values.

Most recently, Christopher was head of people for a procurement software start-up that sold to a SaaS competitor. With 20 years of experience, he brings a successful and global background with private and public companies, enterprise SaaS across multiple industries leading initiatives in the U.S., Europe, Canada, India, Brazil, and Malaysia, and has lived in Ireland and France.

Christopher is certified through the Society for Human Resource Management in the United States and through the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. Additionally, he holds a bachelor’s degree in French from Old Dominion University and a post-graduate degree in Arts in Human Resource Management from the National College of Ireland (Dublin).

He lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, with his husband, speaks several languages, enjoys traveling in his RV, and going to theme parks.

Todd Feinman

Todd Feinman

Driven by extensive technology experience, Feinman co-founded Spirion in 2006. Over his 11 years as CEO, he grew the customer base to over 1,000 organizations and helped win multiple industry awards. Today, he is in charge of leading product vision and corporate strategy. As an industry leader, Feinman has appeared in several major news outlets, including CNN, The Wall Street Journal, and Good Morning America. He authored Microsoft’s book on securing Windows, as well as several textbooks. Prior to co-founding Spirion, Feinman was a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers in security and privacy, a Product Manager for Microsoft in the enterprise server group, and CIO of an energy retailer. Feinman holds a Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

David Goldman

Goldman had acquired extensive experience in technology development — from strategy to support — when he co-founded Spirion. Since 2006, he has led the organization, and headed up product vision, strategy, management, delivery, quality, and support. Today, he is responsible for the company’s technology vision, product strategy, and R&D initiatives. Prior to his founding role at Spirion, Goldman was a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the information security consulting group, where he helped solve complex problems for Fortune 50 customers. In his role as an industry leader, he has written numerous white papers and articles, and presented at industry conferences and international symposia. Goldman has a BS in Computer Science from Washington University, St. Louis.

Jeff Vail

Jeff Vail is an Operating Partner with The Riverside Company and current serves as Chairman of the Board for Spirion. Jeff is former CEO of Wavestone US (formerly WGroup, Inc.) an IT strategy consultancy. Prior to WGroup, Jeff was Chief Commercial Officer for Quintiq, a supply chain planning software firm (acquired by Dassault Systemes). Jeff’s work experiences also include, SVP of Global Corporate Marketing at Unify (formerly Siemens Enterprise Communications), VP of Enterprise Marketing at SAP Americas, and General Manager of Infrastructure Solutions at Unisys. Jeff lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia and he holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stetson University.

Marci McCarthy is the CEO and President of T.E.N., an information security executive networking and relationship-marketing firm. With more than 20 years of business management and entrepreneurial experience, McCarthy founded T.E.N.’s flagship program, the Information Security Executive® of the Year (ISE®) Program Series, which is lauded by the IT industry as the premier recognition and networking program for security professionals in the U.S. and Canada and celebrated its ten-year anniversary in 2020.

McCarthy is also a member of the Board of Directors for the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP), and was previously a member of their Strategic Advisory Board since its founding. She partnered with the ICMCP to create “The Marci McCarthy Cybersecurity Certification Scholarship Program,” which provides $5,000 over a two-year period to help talented women and minority students advance into cybersecurity and obtain their Security+ Professional Certification via CompTIA. Six deserving individuals have been awarded this scholarship to date.

McCarthy has been a guest lecturer, speaker, and moderator at national conferences such as the ISE® Executive Forum and Award Program Series, ISSA Local Chapter and International Conferences, and more, speaking on cybersecurity, women in technology/security/business, STEAM, entrepreneurism, and leadership topics.

Mr. Alan Peyrat started at Riverside in 2007. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Peyrat was a Principal at Apax Partners, where he served on deal teams and portfolio company boards with a focus on the technology and telecommunications sectors. Previously, Mr. Peyrat helped found Telephia, where he served as Director of Sales and Director of Engineering and Operations. He has also worked at the Mayfield Fund, A.T. Kearny, and Public Financial Management, Inc. Mr. Peyrat holds a BS in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and both an MBA and an MA in Education from Stanford University.

Pieter De Leenheer

Pieter De Leenheer is an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and computer scientist. He is Chief Technology Officer at 1upHealth. Previously, Pieter founded Collibra, a unicorn software venture, that spun off from his data governance research lab at VUB university. Pieter writes, teaches and advises on computing and management aspects of data innovation. He serves as expert to several national governments and the European Commission. Pieter has held academic positions across the globe, including Harvard Business School, Columbia University and San Diego Supercomputer Center. He lives in New York City with his wife and three daughters.

Marshall Heilman

Marshall Heilman

Marshall’s deep experience in understanding the origin, impact and aftermath of security incidents involving sensitive data ties directly to Spirion’s mission of protecting what matters most. His military background and experience working consulting, intelligence, and R&D engineering, combined with executive roles at Mandiant (now Google) provide the type of actionable deep insights coupled with business understanding our customers are looking for. Organizations need to protect their most sensitive asset – their data, and Spirion is step one of that protection. Marshall shares that belief. The challenge in front of organizations and Spirion is large and will require a broad network of security providers and proven processes. Marshall’s experience combines both, and we’re thrilled to have his leadership on our Board.

Marshall Heilman is the Mandiant Global CTO (now part of Google) and a Google engineering executive. He has more than 20 years of experience in cyber security, including 16 at Mandiant, holding executive leadership and technical roles. During his tenure at Mandiant he helped lead and develop the world renown consulting and threat intelligence capabilities. Specifically, he led high performing threat research, threat system development, and malware analysis teams; the managed detection and response (MDR) business; and global Incident Response and Red Team operations for Consulting. He has personally led hundreds of incident response engagements to many damaging and public breaches. He also serves as an advisor to pre-IPO stage companies and venture capital firms. Prior to Mandiant, Marshall served in the United States Marine Corps where he specialized in networking and information security operations. He holds an MBA from ASU and a B.S. in CIS from UMGC.
