Underscores the need to protect what matters most: every individual’s right to data privacy and security
ST. PETERSBURG, FL―January 23, 2020―In support of #DataPrivacyDay, Spirion, a pioneer in designing the critical first step of data security and privacy, will launch a series of webinars around the critical nature of data privacy and the growing need for organizations to protect what matters the most: the personal data privacy and data security of their colleagues, customers, and communities.
The first webinar, titled “The California Consumer Privacy Act: Your Questions, Answered,” will be held on January 28, 2020, at 1 p.m. EST. In this highly interactive webcast, data protection industry veteran Scott M. Giordano, Esq., Vice President and Sr. Counsel, Privacy and Compliance for Spirion, will answer pressing questions and share the latest updates from California’s newly enacted consumer privacy law, which went into effect on January 1.
“When organizations collect sensitive, private data, they possess the most invaluable assets of their colleagues, customers, and communities,” Giordano explains. “The real issue that organizations face isn’t just about avoiding regulatory non-compliance; it’s about preventing a breach of trust granted to them by their constituents. Once breached, trust―a fundamental driver behind an organization’s image and ability to compete successfully―is nearly impossible to regain.”
Spirion is a Data Privacy Day 2020 Champion as recognized by the National Cyber Security Alliance, an international effort held annually on January 28 to create awareness about the importance of respecting privacy, safeguarding data, and enabling trust. The company was also recently ranked by CIOReview magazine as one of the “20 Most Promising Compliance Technology Solution Providers of 2019,” an annual listing of 20 companies that are at the forefront of providing compliance technology solutions and transforming businesses.
